Posting date on Warehouse Receipt

We are creating a Warehouse Receipt from the Purchase Order. The Posting Date on the warehouse receipt is updating both the Posting Date AND Document Date on the PO. When we go to post the PO invoice, the Document Date has changed. I understand why it would update the posting date on the PO Invoice but does anyone know why it would update the document date?

    This should be made as a suggestion to the NAV product. You're correct, this does not make much sense.

    Hi,

    This is by design.  The Document Date is the basis of calculating the Due Date in relation to the Payment Terms for that Vendor.  If the date the PO was created was 01/08/14 and you only post receipt of the items from Vendor on the 20/08/14 and the Payment Terms is 1M; then, Due Date is a month from 20/08/14 and not 01/08/14.

    Although your developer can easily modify (if necessary) that the Document Date remains unchanged even if the Posting Date is changed.

    The only thing that you can do (without modifying standard objects) is change the "Default posting date" to "no date" (you will find that in "puchases & payables setup") :-(
