How to build up People Hierarchy in Dynamics 365 Human Resource

Hello,

In D365 HR People area we can see a hierarchical view of all the employees. I imported list of Employees in D365 HR environment in below order and it was successfully imported but when I go to People area it does not display employees in list view. Rather I have to find the employee by typing in Search box and then it appears there. Is there a way to load key managerial employees in the list view panel on left as soon as user lands to People screen? Do I need to setup a special hierarchy for this purpose? Please help!

    Hello,

in Dyn365 HR the hierarchy is based on Positions, not employees: eq: Position A reports to Position B, and NOT employee A reports to employee B.

therefore, you need to import positions and then assign positions to employees.

here are some info about this:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../hr-personnel-set-up-positions

    best regards,

Hi, I already setup positions and position hierarchies. I posted another screenshot in earlier comment. What I need all employees to show up in this view when I open People page. How can i do that? Currently I have to search and find.

    1. this happens because the positions do not have a manager assigned to them ("Reports to position" has to filled in)

    2. this can also happen if the positions are no longer active (with a start date in the past and end date="Never"

    3. and 3rd reason is that in here you see your attached profile. if your user doesn't have an employee attached, then you don't see the hierarchy in here. Go to Employee self service and check if you have any error. if you do, assign an employee to your user. you will see a hierarchy if you already have checked #1
