Server busy "Retry" "Switch To"

Hello,

We have just built a terminal server 2008 R2 and had consultant installed Dynamics GP (2010).  When the user tries to upload a file to a record, the message would popup with "Server busy, Retry or switch to options". Switch to option brings back to the Windows Start menu.

The user is able to log in and do the same function on a workstation (using another staff workstation).  We built the terminal server since she is using a MAC :(

I have done some readings in general but figure I post here first.

Thanks,

TT

Please note the GP database is on another server.

Can any user including the SA connect from the Terminal Server?  Did you complete the installation of the client on Terminal Server as Administrator?

Please explain 'upload a file to a record' as I am not clear on what you are trying to do.

User can log in from the terminal server and so far she is able to perform other functions.

    The issue is follow:

From Purchasing --> Transactoin Entry.  Then go to Note, click on the paperclip icon (an OLE Container pops up).  From there, go to Edit, Insert New Object and chose "Create New" and for object type, choose Adobe Acrobat Document

The client was installed on the terminal server as Administrator by a GP consultant (change user /install, execute).

Is there a link to show me how to install this on the client side?  I am tempted to reinstall it over.

    Thanks,

    TT

What I read, it seems coding bug.

    support.microsoft.com/.../240809

I have GP2010 SP1 and I am getting the same error.

But as you said user is able to log in and do the same function on a workstation? My question is are you sure both machines are on same build number?

    Almas,

Our workstation is Windows 7 (not sure what SP since I don't support desktop). For the server it its 2008 R2 64 bit Enterprise SP1.  Yesterday I tried installing a lower version of Adobe Acrobat (9) and still have the same issue.  We had version VI of Adobe before.

I also went to the GP database server (same version as the terminal server) and attempted the same procedure and had the same issue.

I found a workaround though.  Instead of having the OLE window calling Adobe.  You can do the following:

Open a note and click on the Paper Clip button

The OLE Container window will appear

Open windows explorer and go to the location where your PDF files are located

Select a file and copy it

Switch to the OLE Container window and press CTRL+V (or Edit -> Paste)

The PDF should paste right into the window

Actually I am talking about GP version and SP, not  windows version. :)

And it's nice to know you have find workaround to keep going.!

GP 2010 (SP3).  The workaround also is intermittently.  We uninstalled Adobe and used Foxit (so far so good).
