Dear community,I am looking for a way to download an embedded PowerBI report in D365FO, as a PBIX file. Background:Our customer makes personalization changes to an embedded report in the PROD system. We have to periodically convert those personalizations to Development. The easiest option would be to replace the resource (PBIX file) in DEV with the downloaded pbix file from PROD.
But is this possible? If yes, where can we get the file from?
possible with this reference https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/analytics/power-bi-integration?toc=/dynamics365/commerce/toc.json
however from maintenance perspective should make it controlled way and should go through release process to ensure all validations and test are done before making available to all
Thanks Rahul. Totally agree on the release process suggestion. That's my opinion too.
But I didn't find a way to download the pbix file in the link you shared.
Update:
We decided that, for this architecture (Embedded mode), it is always better to avoid personalization changes in PROD.
Rather, all such requirements will be developed from DEV and will go through the release process.
The reason was to avoid problems with versioning and deployments. We already faced incorrectly deployed report versions multiple times.
Hi Crispin John Augustine,
Did you find a way to download the embedded Power BI report?
unfortunately not yet.
We work in a way, that all changes will be developed. (and not personalized)
