Pre printed report on Dot matrix printer

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi Folks,

I have a requirement to print Sales invoice report on DOT matrix printer. But the content of Invoice are not fitting the page.

For eg. The width and height of report is 32 cm X 15 cm respectively, but I could see the printer prints only till 20 cm of width.

The report is designed in Portrait mode.

If someone who had achieved this can help then that would be great.

Thanks in Advance!!

Anand

    Hi A.k.

You can go to Visual Studio ->Your report->Designer-> Report -> Report properties to change the size.

    Refer to the Blog:

    https://kamalblogs.wordpress.com/2013/09/02/ssrs-tip-how-to-set-the-page-size-for-a-ssrs-report-in-dynamics-ax-2012/

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Will,

Thanks for the reply, I have already changed the size and the design is in portrait mode. I have given size as width 32 cm and height 33 cm. But this does not solve my problem and the printer is not printing till whole 32 cm, it is adjusting the report in 20 cm only. I don't know if this is the limitation with AX.

Which version are you talking about? You've attached tags for both AX 2012 and D365.

All right; I moved the thread to Dynamics 365 Finance forum and removed wrong tags.

    Hi Anand,

Can you please help to have a check whether it will meet your exception if you first preview the report as pdf and print?

    docs.microsoft.com/.../preview-pdf-documents

    Accessing the PDF preview experience

The hosted PDF document viewer control is automatically available in most deployment types. However, for one-box deployments, the PDF preview experience must be enabled on the Report options page. Complete the following steps to enable the PDF preview experience.

    • Go to the Report options page by adding "&mi=SysReportAdministration" to the URL in your browser window.
    • Set the Preview documents using embedded viewer field to Yes.
    • Click Save.
