Integration Manager keeps loading the wrong file

A coworker of mine keeps on loading the wrong mdb whenever she opens IM. When I go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Great Plains\Integration Manager\IMProvider I can see that the wrong mdb file is there as well. Whenever we change it (tools >> Options), it goes back to that of another colleague as if it's the new default whenever she logs off then log back on. However, it only happens for her. 

I was wondering if there is a default setting somewhere that was tempered with or a checkmark that forces a user to load the same mdb file even though it gets changed.

    Bill,

    I did not pay attention which version they are on early, they need to move up. If they are on GP9, then you need to run regedit as Administrator, change the path on the following five places.

    Hit F3 keep searching im.mdb

    You should change in five different places, save.

    Run the IM again and see it it changed the path for you.

    my previous post should work on IM10 & later.

    Robert, do you know if this hold for the earlier versions of IM - note in the first posting - GP version 9.0

    Just want to clarify if this works for that old version.

    Hi yehoshua,

    Here is what you need to do:

    1) Login to the windows as the user needed to run IM

    2) Run notepad as Administrator

    3) Go to C:\Users\user profile\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics GP\18.0.0.0 if you are on GP2018 or later

    4) right click on IMUser_Data.xml file and open it

    5) Change the content to your IM database location on your server where IM.mdb resides <IMDefaultDatapath>C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 18\Samples\IntegrationManagerSamples.IMD</IMDefaultDatapath>

    6) save it, and run the IM, it will show your the right mdb.

    So you appear to have admin rights to the workstation, can you check to see if IM user who is making the change to point to a different mdb file has the same permission.

    From with IM the application may appear to 'change' but if you can not write to the file location then the update will only apply for as long as the session is alive.  Once you restart, it returns to default.

    Have you tried completely uninstalling and re-installing Integration Manager, making sure all references to IM in the Registry is removed before you re-install?

    I don't think I've ever heard of this and there shouldn't be any setting that holds onto the name of the IM database being used.

    I'd check your config files for Integration Manager and .ini file just to make sure nothing has been added to those to default to a specific IM database, but otherwise, nothing that I'm aware.
