    Hi Venkatdax0,

As Nikolaos said, over-layering is not preferred in D365. you can extend the class. If you still want to over-layer the class, If add project is disabled, you can use "Customize" option. This will automatically add the class to your project and model. And you can modify the class as required.

You can only add it to a model that is in applivation suite package. It's not enough that you are referencing it. If you are referencing application suite, you can extend the objects of application suite. But you can't modify them.

You should not modify/overlayer the standard application because it will prevent you from upgrading to version 8. Therefore your D365 support will end in about 1,5 years.

    RE: SalesConfirm report customization

You should not use overlayering when customizing Dynamics 365 for Operations. Starting from next version (8.0, which is released in April) overlayering is completely blocked (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/extensibility/extensibility-roadmap).

You should design a solution that can be used with the future versions of Dyn365FO.

    Hi Venkatdax0,

That’s what the beauty of D365, which is not allowing to customize an object, outside a Suite.

If, you want to customize a class of “Application suite”, make sure, your current project belong to a model, which has access to “Application suite package”

    In other words,

    • Create a new model,

    • go for choice  ”Select existing package”

    • Select “Application suite” as existing  package

    • Create a project that must belong to your created Model

Here you can customize an object of Application suite in your Model.
