Ax32Serv.exe as Managed Type.

As I am trying to debug some piece of code on CIL using Visual Studio by attaching Ax32Serv.exe as a process; system is unable to identify Ax32Serv.exe as Managed Type. It is showing Ax32Serv.exe as X64 type. I have got system admin rights and Local computer administrator. Visual Studio is installed on local machine and I am working on AOS server, this means there is no point of remote debugging.

Have a look at following image, which is correct reflection of contsos demo system as it is showing AX32Serv as Managed Type. That's what I am trying to get for a client. But for this specific client, the type for AX32Serv is being shown as X64.

Next image is what I am actually having on this client.

Would be great if any thoughts/hints can be shared.

Thank you.

Most of the time the generated debug files are not there.

    look at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\YOURAOSNAME\bin\XppIL\source

    also is hot swapping enabled?

finally a restart of the AOS will help sometimes

Sir, I think you have to run Visual studio as Administrator.

    Terrible!!

The installation done previously by someone was not good enough to work. VS tools were installed but Visual Studio was not installed. Not sure how they managed to do this miracle, because usually AX setup catches you in case you are trying to install VS tools without installation of Visual Studio. Probably they had installed Microsoft Visual Studio shell integrated only and went for VS tools as next step. AX setup did not caught without full installation of VS. I would like to reproduce another time on any new system. For moment, its working well after I installed missing visual studio.
