Rendering Word Templates via SDK

Hi All,

Has anyone tried generating a Word Template for CRM 2016 through the SDK? I use the reporting service endpoint a lot for On Premise to generate CRM reports and I'd love to replace my clunky SSRS reports with Word or Excel templates, but I need to be able to generate the reports/documents programatically.

    AFAIK this isn't possible at this stage.

    Hello Aiden,

    I do have similar requirement - word template name will be stored in a field . Workflow has to pick up template name from field, generate word template and attach as an email. This has to be done in workflow. Please suggest.

    You can't create it through the SDK or dynamically configured in a workflow, it needs to be using the OOB workflow step.

    You could do a check condition on the name in the field and have a different WF step for each template but that's about the only way.

    Many thanks for swift response Aiden.

    I have used if condition to choose word template. Along with this, need to create email using template. However this is not possible with workflow as we can associate templates only in send message. Please suggest. How this can be achieved.
