    Hello,

Default Price List on Product defines the calculation for pricing that needs to be applied to the respective product.

    Hope this helps you.

Thank you for using the Dynamics Communities.  As Torrado posted the definition is "Price lists tell your sales agents what to charge for your products or services. You can create multiple price lists so that you can maintain separate price structures for different regions you sell your products in or for different sales channels."

    docs.microsoft.com/.../create-price-lists-price-list-items-define-pricing-products

You mentioned that you are new with Dynamics.  I recommend the following Microsoft Learn courses found here docs.microsoft.com/.../.  There are quite a few courses and modules that can help you get started with Dynamics.

In addition to the responses you already have - the default price list is used when a product is not found on the designated price list.

For example - the default price list could be called MSRP and have the standard selling price for the product on it. But an opp or quote could have a different price list identified on it that is a North Region where the pricing is identified for most products, but the items that sell at MSRP are not included. When you select a product from the catalog that is NOT available within the North Region Price List, it will pull the price from the identified default price list of MSRP for your line item.

Essentially, it's the backup price list for when a product is NOT found on the chosen price list.
