If you are running window authentication for user more that 50 then it will take time. For verify this thing you can check Windows Login table open it if it takes time then you need to delete user's and make database user's.
Hi,
Just try these points as well... & keep your finger crossed... :|
1. Another thing you may want to check is the "Metadata Provider Cache Size" on the Service Tier. It defaults to 150 meaning that it will only cache 150 objects. Setting it to something like 500 or 1000 may improve performance for you.
2. If you have an antivirus, don't let it check the SQL files (.MDF,.NDF,.LDF,.LOG,.TRN,.BAK)
3. Disable Named Pipes in SQL server and use Sockets and not default as Nettype in NAV server.
4. Turn off firewalls on sql and nav-servers.
-----------------
Try to enter your Proxy data unter Windows Internet Settings and check if the automatic detection is disabled,
MS does online license checks during the client start. If your Firewall blocks, you have to add crl.microsoft.com in your whitelist.
This helped here. Before 20s - now 3s to start the RTC or Classic-SQL.
Hey Kareem,
I could be because of the Transaction Server is enabled. Transaction Server Requires network. It is sending data to the server on real time basis, even the Logoff and Logon Transactions while Login or Logoff in the POS.

Hi, try Disable the check for publisher certificate revocation and disable for server certificate revocation.
These option can be found in internet option --> advanced tab under security section. need to scroll downs little bit.
Main reason, if those option are enable (default is checked), the OS tries to check revocation certificate for the apps (i.e. nav client/NAS/RTC client) over the internet. When the access to internet is blocked by firewall then, it takes a while to times up and continue to load the apps. Do remember this option is not computer scope level, but account/login level. Thus if there are two user with two different window login, then each of them need to do the same things.
I have been experiencing this, for NAV classic, NAS service, BizTalk adminstrator, SQL management studio.
As susggestion, you can try to use MS process monitor tools to find out the accessing URL and so fort.
Hopefully can help.

Andy K.

Hi Youssef, can you plz elaborate more on the steps followed resolving the issue?
Happy to help. In general, it's very strange behavior of standalone application. It would be interesting to know why requests happen.
Finally it's solved, I ended up blocking a specific range of ports with the http on the fin.exe and finsql.exe. Thanks Numpine and Sandeep.
