    Rtc Clients or Classic ?

    3 level architetture?

If the problem is only for rtc

Upgrade Nav to last build many performance topics solved

    Try to delete/rebuild personalizationstore XML

    Check delegations/ duplicated SPN

    Check AD Kerberos tickets passed

Check for invasive anti virus in nav servers

Test nav server performance using sockets instead of default

If virtual environment check for network config

    Hi,

Its classic not RTC. Old version client loads quickly in the same environment while NAV09 takes too much time.

    Hi,

    some info :

    - your system is: NAV 2009R2 for SQL server or for Native database ?

    - is a new NAV installation on old existing server ?

    - are you using SQL users or DOMAIN users ?

    - NAV client installed on server run fast or slow with enabled network connection ? test to connect using 'local' or '.' instead of sql server name

    some checks:

    > check installed release & existing permissions on xp_ndo.dll for xp_ndo_enumusergroups & xp_ndo_enumusersids

    > check that.NET 3.51 SP1 or .NET 4.0 is installaed

    > check that ALL NAV prerequisites are installed on Nav server & on Nav clients

    > if you don't need RTC disable use NAV Server flag

    > use standard security insted of enanched if you don't need to manage sql server data slice permissions

    > try to connect with Named Pipes insteaf of TCP

    Also how long is long,

After starting up the PC on the network and giving it 5 min while fully started up to ensure that it is not a different application starting up that is causing the issue (sometimes the anti-virus)

Then double clicking on the NAV icon how long does it take to start up?

What is the spec of the PC and have is this performance issue still found on a different high spec pc?

    Cheers

    Nev

Its NAV2009 R2 SQL DB 2008 R2 with new installation on new server with win2008 R2.

We are using SQL users, but on our Point of Sale, we have local db and the client is slow to load once double click it. Old client of NAV3.1 once clicked opens on the spot.

we are testing it on a point of sale, 4 GB RAM, processor 1300 MHz, 1.30Ghz, time taken once double clicked more than 30sec, old client less than 3sec. On server, 32GB RAM, 4P Quad Core 1.86Ghz, it takes around 20sec.

Hmmm, 20 seconds would be acceptable for the RTC as that takes a bit to load but the classic client should be faster, once the client is loaded what is the performance like using the application?

once loaded the performance is very good.

I would suspect that there is a hardware something going on, point of sale machines are not designed to a typical PC spec

The newer version of NAV uses a newer dot net framework which required more resources to load,

An example will be that windows 3.1 will load a lot faster than windows 7 as the software is smaller, however you cannot do as much with win 3.1

Short of a hardware upgrade i don't think you will be able to speed up the boot time

Hello, did you find a solution for this problem?? I have the exact same problem, although I have powerful machines, once I am connected to the network it takes 10 to 15 sec to open NAV Classic.!
