Related and Connected Records in Single Subgrid View

Is there any way to create a single view that includes both "related" and "Connected To" (or from) records in a subgrid?

I would like to create a subgrid on the contact and account forms that shows both "related" and "connected" opportunities in the same view. It seems to me that this should be a standard feature when configuring the subgrid filter (i.e. "related regarding records") but this does not appear to be the case.

Please don't respond with the suggestion that I create two separate subgrids: one for related and one for connected opportunites. That is what I am trying to work around here. Casual users of the CRM don't distinguish between related and connected, and shouldn't be required to look in two places to find all relevant records.

Thanks,

    Hi Joe,

Actually I doubt this is possible because they are 2 different entities, one is directly Opportunity (linked with Potential Customer - Account and Contact)  and the other is indirect connection between Opportunity and Account or Contact using another entity, stored in Connection

Since subgrid, standard feature, only can list the related record from single entity or not related at all (all records)

I hate to recommend you to create 2 subgrids as you mentioned before :)

Actually in the associate view, out of the box, if you use relationship role not connection it will also appear in the all affiliated opportunity records, my reference:

    social.microsoft.com/.../difference-between-the-area-include-this-record-only-and-related-regarding-records

But, it seems not happening for connection, I havent tried this but you might try this associated view (again, not in subgrid, though) can show connection or not and also only show relationship role or not.

Or you need to create your own fetch xml and then display it using web resource

It is the only possibility I can conclude now.

However, if I find something or anyone find another approach, just share it out here.

    Thank youm

Unfortunately that's not possible; following might help in understanding:

    Hi

I have a requirement in which i am placing two subgrids of same entity "user" on team entity. As I will name those subgrids to specify the role of users like users acting as Financial Analyst and other as Utility Analyst as per requirement.

Now there is a default grid of team members on Team entity.

My requirement is both the grids will hold different set of users and when i will add a user to Financial Analyst, it should get add to default team member grid(which is done) but should not display in other grid as Utility Analyst and vice versa.

Please let me know how can i do that.

    it is simple.

create 2 views over user entity. set each view with a different criteria.

one show users with jobtitle Financial analyst (or maybe member of a team called Financial analyst) and the other with the matching creteria for utility analyst.

    on Team entity,

on one financial analyst subgrid choose the financial analyst view

and on the other choose the utility analyst.

    Thanks for your reply.

But the same user can act as Financial Analyst for one case and utility analyst for other case so it will be dynamically assigned role for each case. That's the problem so do you have any suggestions for that.

Lets say I have a userA and in case1 it is acting as Financial Analyst  and for Case2 it is acting as utility analyst . so when I will see case Team, I want to know for Case1 which user act as which Financial Analyst  or utility analyst  but on case team I can just add users as team members on grid but I need to assign a custom attribute as role along with adding user to a particular case team dynamically.

Please let me know if you need more clarification
