Copying the date field

Hi, 

I have 2 entities: A and B relationship 1:N. Entity B on the N side.

On the Entity A form i have a date field which i want to be populated by Modified On date field on entity B. 

So far i have tried Workflow, field mapping and Quick view form but because it is 1:N relationship i am struggling to have it on the 1 side of relationship that is A, had it been on N side that is B i am able to do it, is there something i am missing here. 

What could be the possible solution.

    Hi,

    If your entity A is parent entity that is 1 then workflow should update. How you are updating using workflow ?

    Mark answer as verified if is feasible for you

    Hi Alam,

    Thanks, sometimes talking helps, i got my mistake i was making the workflow on Parent entity and hence was struggling to get the related entity B, i have now created the workflow for entity B modifying the entity A field as required.

    And do you think, if i have the field on entity A that i want to update has a field level security, will this still be updated using the workflow.

    Hi,

    I have tried to create a workflow using Entity B and updating the related entity A record's date field, but this is not working quite right, irrespective of condition each time the date field on entity A gets updated by modified on date from Entity B. 

    Where am i going wrong, if i create workflow on entity A i do not get the related field option from entity B.
