Any benefits in using the Vendor Performance functionality under Procurement and Sourcing?

Hi:

Can anyone tell me the benefits of using the vendor performance functionality under Procurement and Sourcing?

Can it automatically evaluate vendor performance based on metrics such as delivery time performance, supply fulfillment etc or do you have to manually enter the performance?

Regards,

Steve

    Hello Steve,

I think this is something for a future enhancement or a modification that you need to implement.

For the first point, please post your idea on this forum experience.dynamics.com/ideas

to let MS know about it.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks for this Mahmoud.

    I read the article...very interesting.

I notice though that while powerBI offered some functionality, in the end these reports are still based on data that is entered by the user and no automatically calculated metrics. This is my challenge, how to set metrics and then a report that calculates and prints performance based on calculations.

For example if during a selected date range a vendor delivered 4 out of 5 purchase orders within the lead time for an item then this is an 80% metric which based on predefined settings maps to a "Good" performance valuation rating.

This is where I would like to go.

    Any suggestions?

You might also usefully look at vendor item statistics, and QA data.

    Hello Steve,

MS is improving on that and with the spring release some new vendor related features come in the standard application. Things are probably not perfect yet and we probably have to wait a bit for improved functionality.

Yet, with the new MS Flow, PowerApp and PowerBI functionalities you can enhance the already existing functionalities without making a code adjustment. Probably this is something you want to look deeper into.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Wow.

Is there any report in AX that I will be able to measure number of quotations, successful vendor quotations, percentage of deliveries on time etc?

you are right, this functionality is not automatically collecting scores, but relying on manual entry of scores and evaluations.
