Error While opeing NAV RTC in Windows 8

Hi all,

this below error is coming when we connecting the client to server in rtc.

the server"net.tcp://otmum004:7046/dynamicsNAV/service"
is either unavailable or your connection has been lost.do
you want to attempt to reconnect?

what are the solution for this i have change the ip of both machines (server and client) , services also restarted but nothing is working for this., i have NAV 2009 SP1

    Ok Kine , i will try this "As Administrator", ok what about the issuse how to handle this issuse , there is some how any solution for this problem.

    Have you tried to run the RTC client "As Administrator"? Win 7 and 8 have the UAC feature, may be the problems is somewhere there. Because I am using NAV 2009 R2 (not SP1, but SP1 + hotfixes) without problems, may be the problem could be in the version too.

    Hi kine,

    Thanks for the reply, suppose i have new user i just create his ID in navision and install the RTC in his machine , now for the first time its working, if suppose his system harddisk got crash , and we fresh insatll the Windows 7 or 8 (what ever), than install this Navision RTC than i got this error , which i have mention to you.

    Now if i install windows XP , than it will work , but in case windows 7 & 8 it is refelecting the error. any idea why this error is occur.

    Check event log on the server after you start the service to see if it was correctly started or are there some problems. You must be sure that the service is running correctly first.

    What is the problem of firewall , i have alreday turn off the firewall, still the proble is there. any other idea why this error is coming.
