Installing AX2012R3 cu13 and SQL 2016 SSRS issues

Hi all,

Might be a silly question but it has got me stuck.

I am installing ax2012 R3 cu13 on one server and SQL 2016 with SSRS on another.

I am getting an error when trying to install the Reporting extension. Which states that reporting services is not installed, but it is installed on the SQL server. Am i suppose to install the SQL reporting service on the AOS server?

I have configured the Report server setting within AX and configured the report server configuration manager, it was validated and created the report folder.

    Have you went through documentation that says SQL Server 2012 SP1 Management Objects (SMO) package needs to be installed to use the Reporting Services extensions feature.

    And secondly it is not best practice to install reporting on AOS (For DEV boxes this is common practice though)

    Yes i have installed the SQL Server 2012 SP1 Management Objects (SMO), but still no luck.

    You need to run the installer for the Reporting Services Extension on the SSRS server.

    That would mean installing the client on to the sql/ssrs server?
