Hello,

has anyone tried to run the downloadable vhd of Dynamcis 365 Finance and Supplychain on Apple Mac M-Processor?

I have converted the vhd to the needed format for Paralles on Mac but it doesn´t because the vhd is build for Intel processors.

Any ideas or solution?

Regards
Jan

Good morning, afternoon, or evening - depending on your location :)
    Hope you are well today!

Running the downloadable VHD of Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain on an Apple Mac with an M-Processor can be challenging due to compatibility issues. The VHD is designed for Intel processors, and converting it for use with Parallels on Mac M-Processor may not work directly. Here are some potential solutions:
    1. Use an ARM-Compatible Virtual Machine:
      • Since the Mac M-Processor uses ARM architecture, you may need to use a virtual machine that supports ARM-based systems. Unfortunately, the Dynamics 365 VHD is not natively compatible with ARM architecture, so this approach may require significant customization.
    2. Explore Cloud-Based Alternatives:
      • Instead of running the VHD locally, consider deploying Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain in a cloud environment, such as Azure. This eliminates the need for local virtualization and ensures compatibility.

    Hope this helps :)

Thanks for your answer. But i am aware of both solutions. :)

From a money perspective i don´t want to run it on azure.. :)

    Thats the problem. :)

Nope, it's not possible, you need an ARM build of windows: https://kb.parallels.com/124223
In theory you could use https://mac.getutm.app, but it will perform REALLY bad.

I built a AMD64 workstation that I remote into from my Mac to "solve" this; I save money on Azure, and get increased performance due to dedicated NVME storage.
