I am having trouble while importing a clone solution into Dynamics 365. The Source solution has a global Option Set and the target solution has a simple option set type field. i am getting following error in the log  file.

Id: 740d7222-7617-eb11-a813-000d3a8101d0 because IsGlobal information provided True doesn't match the value stored in DB False

I tried importing the solution by changing the Root component behavior in the solution xml file before import it worked with a trial instance but with the original target Environment  it did not work.has anyone faced such issue please let me know .T

Thanks In Advance!

    Hello Varsha,

Are you trying to change a Global Option Set to a option set?

At least that is what the error is saying.

If that's the case that's not possible.

If on your Source environment you don't have the Global Option Set anymore and you want to match both environments, you have to do a Stage for upgrade into target environment without the Global Option Set /Option Set. This will delete on target the Global Option Set. -> Keep in mind that doing a stage for upgrade or upgrade will delete fields that aren't present on the upgrade solution and if those fields contain data, the data will be deleted.

On Target after the solution is imported and upgrade, verify if the Global Option Set is present or not, if not you can do another import but this time with the Option Set.

    Update a solution

hi Rui, I am trying to convert a simple option set to a global option set by importing the clone solution into the environment. I am getting the error while sending the Global option set value to the target instance.

    Hi Varsha,

The same applies. When you create a field on a environment you can't change his type. You need to recreate him if you would like to change the type of field.
