    Hi AbdallahYousef,

If payment is received from customer then you should book the payment from customer payment journal from AR module.

Secondly if you are using General Journal to book customer payment then create the following entry and you can select method of payment as well from payment tab:

    DR: BANK

    CR: CUSTOMER (not ledger account)

If you will use ledger account directly then this will not impact your sub ledger (AR) and you won't be able to see this transaction in customer reports.

thanks for reply, this transaction is integration from collection system, so the customer details in other system.

I need just to register journal for bank and revenue for company

    Hi AbdallahYousef,

In my home country, many companies are looking for something similar and don't post customer payment journals because that often means additional / double work.

What you can do in the standard application is importing bank statement information into GL journals.

Once all bank statement information are imported you need to settle things.

Realizing an automated settlement often requires a system modification.

Alternatively, you can use complete bank statement packages that are available as ISV solutions from various MS partners.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Abdallah,

If you are importing or entering customer payments. why would you need a method of payment? This is useful for invoices to let the system know if it should be included in direct debit proposals or if the customer will take care of the payment. For the payment transaction itself, it is not important. But I'm not aware of your procedures and reporting requirements.

Related to the error: this might be caused by a customization. Can you tell if and what customizations you have in relation with the integration of the other collection system or other changes on the journal features? Is this happening in a production environment or another environment?

    Hello AbdallahYousef,

Just wondering whether you need any other information/help from the community or whether you have been able to get this issue resolved in the meantime?

Would be great if you could keep us updated.

    Many thanks and best regards,

I take the workaround solution by split journal name regarding the payment method in collection system

    thanks for all

    Hi Yousef,

Looks there is some customization in the form lookup control. Check with your development team. If there is no customization, by default It will bring the method is payment lookup properly.

    Thanks,

Currently the method of payment is only supported for Account type as "Customer" or "Vendor". Apart from this you will get the same error for "Ledger", "Bank" or other type.

    Hi,

Method of Payment is working of the Account Types Customer or Vendor. For the other Account types, we are getting the error "This control cannot open a lookup form in its current context due to insufficient metadata". So, we can conclude that, it's a standard behavior of D365.

For your requirement, you can find the other field as a workaround or customize the new field for mapping this information.

    Thanks,
