Hi @Cribbie,
Project Operations allows you to define resource requirements using role, skills, and availability filters via the Schedule Assistant, but it doesn’t support fully automated booking like Field Service’s Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO).
You can:
Create generic requirements
Filter for matching resources
But the actual booking must still be manually confirmed — the system doesn’t auto-assign
If full automation is a must, Field Service with RSO or a custom-developed logic would be the way to go.
This response is based on my personal understanding and experience. It does not represent Microsoft or any official guidance. Always verify with up-to-date Microsoft documentation and release notes.
Warm Regards,
Zain
