How can I create a link to an opportunity to add to a document?

I would like to create a link to an opportunity in our CRM. Creating a link would allow me to add that link to a document so that users of the document could click that link and immediately be taken to the specificly linked opportunity in the CRM. However, when I attempt to get a link to the opportunity by copying the link generated when I click "email a link", the link that is generated just takes the user to a random page in the CRM (sometimes it is the one they last visited) whether that is "active accounts" or "open leads" or whatever other page it decides to send them to.

It never sends them to the opportunity I want them to see. Why is that? How can I create a link to the opportunity?

Unfortunately, the link in the browser address bar is the same as the one generated when you click "email a link" and it still just sends some users to a random CRM page.

    Hi

Open the opportunity record, copy the address from the browser address bar and paste that into your document

And it should look like the following, clickable link, the user will have to do Ctrl+click and it should open the  record fine.

Please note if the user is not signed into CRM, it will first prompt them to log in and will take them to the record. If they are already signed in, it will open the record fine.

Note: The above suggestion is for Unified Interface if you are still on classic UI, you can pop-open the record by clicking on the button shown below and copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into the document.
