Inventory allocation

I need your guidance.

We have a situation where a Stock item oncost provision is insufficient to absorb the freight , customs , transport costs related to that item.

Take for example,

The oncosts are about $1.2M on a product worth $300,000 so we would like to manually add to the stock value in inventory that amount

so the stock value shows the true landed cost.

Is there a process in NAVision that we can follow that allows us to manually adjust the Stock Item value accordingly

Please advise

    RE: Inventory allocation

You can find it here: ***/Departments/Warehouse/Inventory/Revaluation Journals

    Follow this How-To: msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168236(v=nav.90).aspx and msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168126(v=nav.90).aspx

Note that you need to fill the Journal already with a new value that you want your items to be. NAV will calculate the needed adjustment. Also, do not forget to run Adjust Cost - Item Entries batch job periodically.

Where In NAV Can I find the Item Revaluation Journal. Is it the same with Item Journal and what are the procedure I should follow?

You can either allocate items charges to the initial posted purchase order (in oncosts purchase order select Charge (Item) in the Type field of the line. This would allow you to allocate the costs against the increase of the payable to that service provider. Another option is to use item Revaluation Journal, where you can manually adjust the cost value of the item.
