Microsoft Dynamics AX (Archived)

When choosing a Primary Index for the table there are no options other than "Surrogate Key".

Hello everyone, I'm new here and just started training on Dynamics AX R2.

I'm following a guide in making a Primary Index but I can't choose the Index I created as a Primary Index.

I created an Index and set the " AllowDuplicate " property to no, It's not showing up in the dropdown menu of "PrimaryIndex". AX-help-1.PNG

I hope you can help me cuz I can't progress the training with it.

    Hi, set AlternateKey to Yes and try again.

    Hi Momochi.

    Anton is correct, on the Index that you would like to use as your primary key, you will need to set the "AlternateKey" property to yes. You will then have to save the record and you should then be able to select this property as needed

    Hi All,

     Alternate key is not mandatory in order to set the pr.imary index. Usually alternate key is used for choosing the replacement key.

     Please find the below screen shot
