We are working on a HoloLens app that enables anyone to record their own 3D animations (operator’s hand + 3d tools & models), so that they can import them (glTF) and play them back into their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides. We are having some trouble with the glTF animation support on HoloLens Guides app, as they are not working as expected.
We already know that currently Guides does not support vertex-based animations, and only node-based and skinned based animations are supported. But we are still having issues with basic skinned based animations. So we went over the Khronos Group glTF samples and the following simple skinned based animation get distorted on HoloLens Guides app: https://github.com/KhronosGroup/glTF-Sample-Models/tree/master/2.0/CesiumMan
This is what we see on the HoloLens (notice the hands and legs, it is similar to what we see with our own generated animations):
This is how it suppose to be (result from Microsoft 3d Viewer or Guides PC app):
Any ideas on what the issue is?
PS: the HoloLens Guides app version we are using is: 600.2103.19001.0.
Thank you.
Hi Reda, quick follow up that I filed a bug and I will circle back when I have more info. Thank you for reporting the issue.
Thank you for the report, Reda. We are taking a look at the model, and I will back with any updates.
