Portal Caching - Dynamics 365 CRM On premise portal - changing the sorting, shows the records correctly

Hi Guys!

we are facing the issue where new records are not shown in the grid on the portal. Basically, when changing the sorting, it shows also the new records. But in case if the sorting is changed again to the original one, there are no new records any more.

Have you seen this error? Do you have any solution for this?

We are using this solution: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55789

Miha

    Hi Miha,

We've seen this in the past, and usually it indicates you don't have the automatic portal cache invalidation configured correctly.  The weird behavior occurs because each different page of the grid is cached independently.  The first page of the grid is usually in cache, since anytime you visit the page it's displayed and cached.  But if you change the ordering, this creates a new requests, that most likely hasn't been cached yet, and therefore will perform a new query against the CRM and get the new data.

I've written a blog post on setting up cache invalidation for the on premise version (it's also known as the xRM Portals Community Edition):

    Hope that helps.

    Nick
