Budget Control

Guys,

I have the problem below, wonder if anyone can help.

My scenario

1/1/18 - i registered a budget for ledger account 600155 @ 100/ month from Jan - Dec.

At the beginning i just register the budget amount 100 but without the budget control and have some transaction posted from Jan - March'18

But from April'18 onward, i decided to setup the budget control for the ledger account 600150 to ensure not allow exceeded 100.

I notice that after i have activated the budget control for 600150, although i have registered 100 for month April at the beginning stage, but when i key in a actual transaction 80 (below budget) system will block me from posting the transaction.

Below is my error message

    Can you share details of your budget control configuration setup? Especially what transactions\accounts are controlled and for which periods.

    Hi,

    The budget control is active for account 600155.

    Can you check how voucher GNJL000127 looks like? Does it include account 600155? If so, what is the amount posted on that account?

    I wonder why my budget registered for 600155 in April'18  is 100 and my transaction is 80.00 still hit error.

    Hello Jie De Xin,

    The message indicates that the budget found for this transaction is $0, which is in contrast to the completed budget register entries recorded.

    There seems something strange here.

    I wonder if you could replicate this issue in a different demo/test environment?

    Have you tried turning the budget control off and on again?

    What AX2012 version do you operate?

    Hi,

    I am using AX2012 R3

    I have tried in several testing environments, all having the same problem.

    I realize normally it happen at below condition

    1. I created and transferred my budget registry

    2. Activate my budget control after budget register

    Hello Jie De Xin,

    Can you test for another account what happens if you change step 1 and 2.

    Take for example account 600120 (freight costs) and define and budget control rule. Then ensure that it is active before you create your budget.

    Hi,

    Yes i did tried with a few ledger account.

    I try to search around and found it was a common issue in AX

    Hi,

    Does the workaround to change step 1 and 2 work for you. If this is not the case I would recommend that you talk with the MS support directly to clarify if a hotfix or change in the general functionality through MS helps.

    I suggest start a new budget data range for the remaining budget balance. Its not so straightforward e.g. you may have POs raised and received without budget control that are then invoiced with budget control.
