This should be a straightforward request...
 
Which data entity (or table, but preferably data entity) contains a list of purchase invoices and purchase credit notes?

    There aren't out of the box data entity which exports posted invoices. You can consider developing your own entities. The vendor invoice headers can be found in the table VendInvoiceJour.

    Also, if you are looking for report or data within D365 you can go to Purchase Ledger > Inquiries > Invoice > Invoice journal It will provide all teh invoice and credit notes list

    VendTrans is the table but this table contains multiple transaction types, so you'll need to filter the data for Transtype=Purchase order.
