Empty Income Statement/ Balance Sheet

Hello, I have been doing accounting for the year and wanted to print income statement and balance sheet. This is a new company. When I print a Trial Balance it shows all the values for all lines but when I print financial statements they are empty (besides having a headline and all the statement structure but no numerical values). All my chart of accounts have categories Balance Sheet/Income statement as well as subcategories.

Do you know what am I missing to have fully filled reports? thnks.

Hi there, yes. I used a function called Account Schedules and created new Income Statement and Balance Sheet forms from scratch. With our localization it had those by default, but I know its not recommended to do any adjustments to those, better to create the one you want. We created the formats there based on how we wanted them to show up printed. It is pretty easy to do there, you can chose the lines you want to see, the font type (meaning bold, underlined, etc.). It was a bit time consuming but I did it and it works now very well. When you create the structures that you like, you need to go into General Ledger Setup, and under Reporting tab adjust which account schedule is used by default when you print balance sheet or income statement.

Also, for me at least these account schedule templates were not connected with GL, meaning the structure was there but each line did not have a dedicated GL line assigned to it. That's why it did not print. Let me know if it works out for you
