    Hi Siddhant Singh,

Why do you need to change the project type?

I would recommend setting up a new subproject and transferring the transactions recorded so far on the subproject.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

We have created a project with wrong project type. So we want to change the project type for the project.

    Just created this project.

Can we delete this project and create the new project?

Or Is it possible to upload this data from backend and get Billing type changed?

And also what is the procedure to transfer the transactions?

    Thanks and regards

    Hi Siddhant Singh,

The scenario described by you is a little confusing. If you just created the project and have not done any transactions on it - then yes you can delete it and create a new one with the correct project type. However if you have transactions - you will not be able to delete it and we would not recommend to change the project type, but rather to follow Ludwig's proposed solution. Changing the project type can be achieved by changing the project group, however this might not work as expected and there are several scenarios that need to be taken into consideration - you might want to check docs.microsoft.com/.../about-changing-the-project-group.

    Hi Siddhant,

    Fully agree with Alina.

If this is a new project that has no transactions recorded then simply delete it and create a new one.

Otherwise, you would have to use the workaround I described before.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Siddhant,

This is detailed in the document I mentioned. I am attaching it once again, as I could see that the link is not accessible:

    Hi all,

We have another project which is In Process, and only timesheets are filled for this project and no invoicing is done yet.

If we want to change the Project Type, In this case would you recommend to delete the project.

    Thanks and regards

    Hi Siddhant,

There are many things you have to check as Ludwig and Alina suggested. You have to understand through code what happens while changing the project type. Hence i would suggest that create new project if there is no transaction.

    Hi Siddhant Singh,

If you already created a transaction for the project then don't delete it or change the project type (manually or by code).

Doing this would cause a lot of trouble and 'headache' cleaning up the mess that this would cause.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
