Dynamics NAV OCR with Lexmark

Hi!

Does anybody knows if it's possible to use the OCR technology to import other documents rather than purchase invoices? I would like to add extra fields to incoming docs and add my own c/al to create other entries in Nav that we receive in PDF.

It seams to me we are limited to a set of OCR Service templates that only apply to purchase inv docs, is that it?

Many thanks

    Hi MarianaM
"Lexmark offers Invoice Capture Service for NAV" is the service by Lexmark,Up to my Knowledge this feature was designed for purchase invoices only. It does not work with purchase orders or inventory items.
However, I had worked for customer that are using a third party tool to import different documents using OCR technology. This product is very popular in DK market.
    Have look on it.

    Hi Marianna,

I Work for Continia, and I can confirm, that we offer an add-on supporting your requests. Continia Document Capture support both adding extra fields and other document types.

See video about adding extra document types here: youtu.be/tbl7LG6y-ss

We use vendor specific templates - easy to administrate - see how here: youtu.be/qw76IF7oN-I

    Hi MarianaM,

    yes Its possible

OCR can use to import your manual document to NAV

    How its works.....

OCR TEMPLATE ==>[Scan Your Manual doc]====>

OCR Application ===>[Recognize your letters & suggest you for confirm]  =====>

OCR Application====>[Correct differs and Confirm] =====>

OCR Application ======>[Send records to your NAV intergration tabe]=========>

NAV ===> Get the record from your integration table and send it your required tables

The way to do is definitly you have to link with 3rd party application

we also try some free OCR application but its really not suitable with NAV

that  why im recommend to go with 3rd  party application

If you wanna further information , i can provide you in details because we have already implement this

Finding vendor with your own risk , and be careful the vendor license , chose exact match license fit with you ::)
