Global address book drving me insane

This is my first install with AX, and w're having real issues with the global address book. This is a multi company install with 14 companies.

I used the Global Address Books white paper to import the vendors for the first company. Everything seemed to come across OK. I can go into the Global Address Book in that company, and I can see the vendor, but there are no address or communication details. I did the import logged in to that company.

If I log into another company, there are no address or communication records visible in the other company. I can see the vendor fine in the GAB, there's just no details.

Yet if I go into the DAT company, and look in the Global Address Book, I can see all the details. So why are the records visible here, and not in the other companies? I checked the relationships and all those records are showing as 1 (shared) on the SQL database. So they should be available to all the companies.

If I go into a company, and load a new vendor into the GAB in that company, then set up the vendor, it pulls all the details in to the vendor's address tab - but only in that company. If I try to add an exisitng address book record as a vendor in any company other than the originating one, then no address or communication info is attached to it. Frustrating!

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to to make these records available in all companies? I've synced the database, it doesn't make any difference. I don't want to add to many more vendors before I get this sorted out.

Regards, Allison.

I presume from this you have virtualized the vendor tables but not the global address book tables?

The virtual company has the DirParty table collection, that's it. I'm thinking it should have maybe had the Global one as well.

I jsut copied down the live system to the test system. and none of the Global address book information is showing at all in the newly copied system ...

    Hi Allison Sullivan

How did you get around that Global address book frenzy? I got an issue of not being able to create any new record in Global address book when I use import company function to copy a company from one instance to another. Could you please share your experience so I can try to find out how to fix my issue. I was able to create a new record in Global address book before import the company .dat file. Thanks in advance
