Field "Address" in LogisticsPostalAddress not filled correctly when inserting using smmContactPersonEntity

As u know there is a field in LogisticsPostalAddress called Address, which takes the country, street, city etcc and put them together using comma. When i inserted the contactPersonEntity the field address got filled automatically but without comma, so it looks like this:

TestStreetTestCityCDGUGBR but it should be like this :  TestStreet,TestCity,CD,GU,GBR  ...why is that?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi JuniorAX,

First, you need to check the address format in D365 (Organization administration - Global address book - Addresses - Address setup). Find country/region of your address and check address format.

Do you put address information to separate address fields in the entity (City, Street)? Do you fill FormattedPrimaryAddress in the entity?

Please, note, that entity smmContactPersonEntity is obsolete and it's better to use smmContactPersonV2Entity entity.

    Hi Sergie,

    here's the setup

    pastedimage1589369602632v1.png

I do fill the city and Street, but no i don't fill the field called FormattedPrimaryAdrdress in the entity. I tried to fill the field Address in the entity but it didn't allow me so i thought this is because it gets filled automatically.

    1. Do i need to try and fill the FormattedPrimaryAddress by myself for it to work?

    2. i switched to V2Entity but what's the difference with the old, i noticed that they are similar.

    3. Do u know which field in the entity "smmContactPersonV2Entity" i can use to fill LogisticsLocationRoleType for the address?

    4. I want to fill the LocationName of the Postal Address, but in the entity "CustCustomerV3Entity" i can only see the ElectronicLocationId filled, how to get the other one?

    Hi JuniorAX,

    1. No, you don't need fill FormattedPrimaryAddress. Where actually do you see this address? According to your set up there is no separator for address, only new line. If you go to contact in UI, what do you see in Address field?

    2. V1 is obsolete and it can be removed from code soon and you will need to re-design your solutions.

    3. For location roles, you can use field PrimaryAddressLocationRoles (PrimaryAddressLocationRoles = 'Business;Invoice')

    4. Not sure, maybe you can try AddressDescription

    1. in UI i see each one in new line, but when i open table browser i see them crowded... so does that mean i don't need to worry about it?

    Hi junior AX,

Would it be possible to share a screenshot of the table browser for logisticspostaladdress

    Hi,

Please see the screenshot below which showcases:

    • Address format [LogisticsAddressFormat entity] with the separator.

    4532.Address-setup-_2D00_Use-Separator.jpg

    • See the screenshot of an import using [smmContactPersonV2Entity], where each address field [Street, City, ZipCode, Country ID] has been populated except the FORMATTEDPRIMARYADDRESS field. If you want  to use the FORMATTEDPRIMARYADDRESS you can map it to the target entity while generating mapping before import. In my experience I have always used the individual fields in the entities as setup in the Address format.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Shilpi

    Hi JuniorAx,

Yes, it's normal because of the new line separator.
