We are looking to upgrade our SQL Server from 2008R2 to 2014 i have read online that GP2010 is not compatible with SQL 2014. Curious if running the database in Compatibility Mode for 2008R2 would allow it too work or is it too heavily dependent/integrated on SQL for that to work?

Chris - even if compatibility mode did allow you to run GP2010 on SQL 2014, you would be running an unsupported configuration, which would mean Microsoft would not provide technical support on any issue you might encounter. For the extended version of my comments, please see this blog post.
