Sharepoint configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

I am attempting to install Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I run the Dynamics AX prerequisite validator, I am receiving errors from the configuration of SharePoint 2010. In the Log file, I am receiving a message that says that SharePoint 2010 is not compatible with Microsoft .NET version 4.0.30319.34014. After researching this issue with SharePoint I have found that SharePoint 2010 requires .NET version 2.0. How do I configure SharePoint 2010 to use .NET version 2.0.50727? I have been spinning my wheels on this for over a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

You can change .NET framework from In IIS 7.0, expand your web server and go to Application Pools --> SharePoint Central Administration application pool --> Properties --> set to .NET Framework version 2.0.50727

Thank you so much for your reply Ramy. We have all of our application pools set to .NET version 2.0.50727, but the Dynamics error log still says that Sharepoint is not compatible with .NET v4.0. Are there any other configurations we can do to set the .NET version to 2.0 so Dynamics/Sharepoint will see it?

    Hi,

I've just successfully completed R3 installation for the new development environment. It was done in the following order:

    1. Installed AX 2012 R3 AOS with database, AX Client and management utilities (build 6.3.164.0)
    2. Completed "Initialization check-list" in AX
    3. Installed SharePoint 2010 with integrated SP2 (build 14.0.6119.5000)
    4. Updated SharePoint 2010 with CU kb2863938 (build 14.0.7116.5000)
    5. Created new web application (running under AX business connector account)
    6. Installed AX 2012 R3 Enterprise Portal component (for the web application created in previous step)

Everything runs on the same Windows Server 2012 R2 (build 6.3.9600). I didn't mention SQL Server 2012 and Reporting Services installation since it does not relate to your issue.

Please, try to update your SharePoint 2010 with the CU mentioned above. If it does not help - please describe in which order your installation was done.

    Hey Oleg,

First off, thank you so much for your help, we have progressed much farther in our installation. We are now encountering a problem with installing the Enterprise Portal. The setup fails when it enters the method deployEPOnSharepoint. I included a link to the PasteBin below so that you can see what it says specifically. We followed the steps you listed in your last post but after creating the web application, the EP just won't install.

Thank you again for your help Oleg. If you have any ideas about what the problem is now, we would be very thankful.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, from this part of the log file it is not exactly clear which deployment step fails.

Please, try installing Enterprise Portal without "Create web site" option (you can always manually create a website later):

If it fails again - please, publish full log file

I had actually tried to install it without creating the website as well before I made the last post. Here is the full log file: http://pastebin.com/9BWymEd2

    Hi Oleg,

I am planning to install R3 for a new development environment (VM). Could you share the complete list of steps which I can use to do this? It would be very helpful.

    Thanks

    Arunesh
