Sharepoint configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

I am attempting to install Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I run the Dynamics AX prerequisite validator, I am receiving errors from the configuration of SharePoint 2010. In the Log file, I am receiving a message that says that SharePoint 2010 is not compatible with Microsoft .NET version 4.0.30319.34014. After researching this issue with SharePoint I have found that SharePoint 2010 requires .NET version 2.0. How do I configure SharePoint 2010 to use .NET version 2.0.50727? I have been spinning my wheels on this for over a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

RE: Sharepoint configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3

    Hey everyone,

I sincerely apologize for the late response, but I was finally able to get the Enterprise Portal to install. If anyone runs into similar issues during an installation, follow Oleg's response for the order of installation. The error I was encountering during installation of the EP was able to be solved by renaming the 15.0 folder in the registry and stopping all Sharepoint Services during the EP installation. Once the EP installs, start the sharepoint services and rename the registry folder back to "15.0".

Oleg, I want to personally thank you for your help throughout this as you have saved me many headaches. Thank you to everyone else who contributed as well; you have all helped out very much.

    Thanks again,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Being an user in the local administrator group will overwrite the registry permissions.

Run the installation media setup as "Run as administrator" option.

Also double check logged in user is having rights in sharepoint server to deploy the enterprise portal contents, also disable your UAC level.

Try to install the Enterprise Portal components alone, unmark all check boxes before you click the install button.

If the install succeeds, then navigate to the below mentioned path and then run the AxUpdatePortal utility cmd in Powershell

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\EnterprisePortalTools

    AxUpdatePortal –deploy –websiteurl http:// ServerName[:port]/Sites/SiteName

Hope the above help you, also please refer my R3 EP installation blog below

    Hi,

Please, check if you have this registry key on your machine:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\15.0

If it exists - rename it (or backup and then delete). You can restore it back after the EP is installed.

Please, also check what version do you have for 14.0:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\14.0 -> Version

    Hey Oleg,

I manually copied the help files and that error has since been cleared. I am still encountering the second error though. My user account has full administrator rights on this server so unless there is another permission that needs to be enabled, I should have full access. Is there any other scenarios that you know of that would throw this error?

Once again, thank you so much for you help through all of this.

    Hi,

Please, check if your account has enough permission on this machine. Enterprise Portal installation fails twice (according to the log file):

    1) When coping contents of Support\EPHelp directory from the Installation DVD to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\HCCab\

    2) When reading registry key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\14.0

You can also try copying help files (step 1 above) manually and re-running the installation - sometimes it helps.

    Hi Oleg,

I am planning to install R3 for a new development environment (VM). Could you share the complete list of steps which I can use to do this? It would be very helpful.

    Thanks

I had actually tried to install it without creating the website as well before I made the last post. Here is the full log file: http://pastebin.com/9BWymEd2

    Hi,

Unfortunately, from this part of the log file it is not exactly clear which deployment step fails.

Please, try installing Enterprise Portal without "Create web site" option (you can always manually create a website later):

If it fails again - please, publish full log file
