ADX Portal - IdP Initiated Sign-In (SSO)

Good day all,

I'm busy configuring our Dev ADX portal environment for SSO via ADFS. I'm at the part of where I need to configure the 'IdP initiated Sign in' but I'm not sure of the following things.

1. I assume I need to configure this on the ADFS server?

2. if on the ADFS server will this configuration not affect our production configuration of the portal? 

I'm using the following url for teh configuration 

https://community.adxstudio.com/products/adxstudio-portals/documentation/configuration-guide/portal-authentication/asp.net-identity-authentication/saml-2.0-provider-settings/
