CostPrice column in Project Forecast Cost goes to zero when date is changed

Sorry for posting what might very well be a really stupid question but i have a serious problem, that I need to get a grip on.

I am just a simple user without any in depth knowledge at all. Also there might be a laguage problem in my post since the AX I'm using is in Swedish.

My company do cost forecasting by entering rows of costs in the ProjForecastCost form in the AX client.

There is a major problem though: If the date for a forecasted row is changed, the cost goes to zero. Quantity and description can be changed without this occuring. I would like to have the cost remain the same as previously entered when the date is changed.

I've been told to accept this, since AX apparently does some kind of lookup for the forcast category, and when nothing is found, the cost value of zero is set.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this behaviour?

When you change the project date, AX looks up the corresponding cost for the expense based on the new project date (set via Project Management > Setup > Prices > Cost price (Expense)). This functionality could be disabled through customization if you do not use pre-set cost prices for expenses. You would, however, want to ensure that it only affects your forecasting and not other areas that utilize expense transactions.

    Thanks for this info.

To me that seems like a strange behaviour, since it would be impossible to on forehand determine all possible expenses that is expected. When a lookup match in ProjCostPriceExpense is found the price shoud be reflected, but when no match is found the previously changed price should remain unaffected.

However, if this is the way things were designed, we'll have to customize.

To make my argumentation simpler, could you point me in a good direction for where info on how to customize would be found?
