Attachment Preview Button Missing and Cannot Preview Any Type of Document

Pardon my frustration.

Read many different posts and responses to this.

Microsoft documentation instructs you to click on the Preview Button to view your attachment document.

No button in Attachments.

Click on any type of document to View and it immediately downloads. Nobody wants that.

Just need to View the document. Whether its a PDF, Office doc, jpeg, email...just want to view it.

Read Adobe Chrome Extension should work PDF's, tried that, doesn't work.

And the Office Editing Plugin for Chrome should work for 365 documents, that doesn't work.

Attach to SharePoint and create a link? More code required.

Or Download to OneDrive? Most of these documents are being uploaded from these locations, why do I want to download them again and have multiple copies across users OneDrive's?

Am I missing something? A Microsoft App that won't open office documents Read Only or in Preview Mode from another Microsoft App in a browser?

Or I have to pay for another app just to Preview?

Anyone...

Hi, Microsoft Business Central doesn't support previewing files/attachments natively. You have to download it manually and open them using the tools installed on your computer.

Business Central does not offer a preview feature for attachments; you will need to download the file to review it. I hope the link below helps resolve the issue.

Microsoft documentation instructs you to click on the Preview Button to view your attachment document.

Can you you confirm where you saw this? As mentioned by the other users, this is not a feature in Business Central yet. However, its coming for PDF attachments in the next version - Preview PDF attachments directly in web client | Microsoft Learn

If the Attachment Preview Button is Missing and you cannot preview any type of document, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Clear Browser Cache & Cookies – Sometimes, cached data can cause issues with loading certain elements.

Check Browser Extensions – Disable any extensions that might be interfering with document previews.

Update Your Browser – Ensure you are using the latest version of your browser.

Try a Different Browser – Open the file in another browser to see if the issue persists.

Enable Preview Settings – If you're using a platform that has preview settings, ensure they are enabled.

Check File Compatibility – Some document types might not be supported for preview.
