Intercompany - Transaction Notification

Hi,

 

I am trying to understand how the "Transaction Notification" works in the Intercompany setup in Business Central. Specifically, I am looking to see if BC can be configured to send an email to notify a receiving partner when an entry appears in their Intercompany Inbox.

 

If email notifications are not possible, how does the internal notification work? I cannot see any internal notifications on the Role Center. There seems to be limited information available on how this feature functions, so I am hoping someone can shed some light on this.

    Hi,
     
    The Boolean "Transaction Notifications" does not really send any email or notification it just displays the message when any your send any transaction to IC partner or you post the journals.
    You may have seen the message something similar to - 'An entry for document (No.) has been created as an intercompany transaction. The entry was automatically sent to IC partner (Partner Name).'
    This Boolean handles the above message. Turn it off and the message will not appear.

    Business Central does not provide built-in email notifications for Intercompany Inbox entries. Notifications are internal only, and there is no dedicated alert on the Role Center by default. Users must manually check the Intercompany Inbox page for new transactions.
    “Transaction Notification” :- It’s an on/off flag on Intercompany Setup that marks intercompany documents/journal lines so the receiver will see them as new entries in their Intercompany Inbox (it’s an internal cue/flag—not an email trigger).
