Is it possible to show a user when logging in his last login date and time?

Hi,

Is it possible to show a user when logging in his last login date and time?

We have a business requirement to show each user when they login to Dynamics 365 on premise information about their last login (date and time). Can this be done in Dynamics 365 8.2 in a supported way? If not, can it be done in a unsupported way?

Thank you very much for your help. Cheers,

Stéphane

    Hi ,

The supported way I believe you are aware about user audit user access.

    Hi

I think the first question is where and how you want to see this report really.

Once you enabled User Access auditing, CRM will audit when the user logs in

You can use the out of the box Audit Summary View with filters to monitor

You can create SSRS report and display the last login for each user or even have filters on the report to filter to only users you care about

You could also consider using  XrmToolBox plugins such as Audit Center, Audit Explorer, and Audit History Extractor

Hi Goutam, thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. This is really helpful and I was aware of Audit functionality although I don't have much experience using it.

The goal for the new functionality is to make the system more secure. The ideal solution is that the user logs in and then immediately sees only his own last login information (date and time) so he may detect suspisious activity. Now if the user can access this information not immediately but by some other means like clicking somewhere after logging in, this could potentially meet our requirements.

Is it possible to display the information immediately upon login?

And can we enfore security roles so that a user can only see his own audit logs/records and not everyone else's?

    Thanks Goutam

    Hi Kokulan,

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer and send me those screenshots as well. Please see my answer to Goutam above. I would like each user to see their report immediately upon login to Dynamics without any manipulation on their part. I also want to make sure that they are unable to see other users logs for security reasons. I'm affraid that XRM toolbox would be too complicated for our users. I've been able to access the audit logs as an administrator but I'm affraid that adding these permissions to other security roles will allow them to see all the logs and not just their own... correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks again for your detailed answer!
