I'm trying to understand the real difference between UBL and Factur-X for e-invoicing.
What I've noticed : Factur-X generates a single PDF with an embedded XML file, while UBL only generates an XML file.
However, I know that with any format you can enable an "e-invoice attachment" on the customer details , which lets you get both the XML and the PDF as separate files alongside each other , without using Factur-X at all.
So my question is: if UBL can also produce both a PDF and an XML this way, is the PDF-embedding mechanism is the only real difference between the two formats? Or are there other business-rule differences that go beyond just how the PDF is delivered?
