The 'sa' user has lost half the menu options

Well here is a new one. We have a client whose 'sa' user has lost half of the menu options. For example, there is no Tools->Utilities. Usually I would drop the user and recreate it but that cannot be done for 'sa'. How do I restore all the menu options for 'sa'?

I was pretending to be one of our users. Just keep pushing buttons and selecting menu options and hope for the best.

Should I admit to luck, or knowledgeable guess? lol

Happy to hear that resolved it for you.

    Have a great day.

As usual you are correct. These tables had almost no records in them for 'sa'. I went to User Security and set 'sa' to AP clerk and clicked Save. I then pulled up 'sa' again and assigned PowerUser and clicked Save and all returned to normal.

In the SY07121 and SY07125 tables, there are records for the USERID = ''. These are the defaults that are given to the sa and non-sa users. If these defaults are missing or incorrect, it could cause menu items to be missing in the Dynamics GP application when users login.

When I look at my GP 18.3 system, in the SY07121, the USERID of '', sa and all other users, have 11 or so records each.

In the SY07125 table, the '' userid has 42 records, as do the sa and all other users.

**NOTE: This is with all U.S. modules installed, so your tables may have different amounts of records.

What we'll usually do, after backups are made, is delete the records in these two tables for the blank user and any 'bad' users, as by doing this, the system rebuilds them the next time someone logs into the GP application.

I would start with these two tables to begin........

    Thanks
