Is there a way to set the permissions of Sales Order?

Posted on by 40

Hello everyone,

because of the company's business requirements,

I want to ask

when the Assigned User ID of this sales order is TWAT2,

what should I do so that only TWAT2 and IT staff can see this sales order, and no one else can see it?

thank you very much!

    Hi ,

You need to remove the Insert and Modify Permission from Sales Header you have given them that too ( if you want to give them only to read)

Also what are the below permission sets has in it.( TS IT and TS_SALES_S03_H)

Does it has sales header table data and does not have security filter which will over rule your permission sets.

I create a copy of the permission sets from 'D365 BASIC', and In the Field Filter column,

I set the user to have permission to see the sales order with the salesperson as H269

I also have assign the permission set to the user.

But when I log in with  SH03 account, I can still see all the orders.

I want to know if I missed any action,

    thanks!

    Hi,

You can follow the below steps.

    1. Go to Users page and check if the specific user (TWAT2 and IT) has permission sets "Bus Premium", "Super", or any other permission sets which has access of Table data Sales Header (36)

    2. If yes then go to permission sets. Search for the specific permission set.which the user (TWAT2 and IT) and create a copy of the permission sets.

example my user has permission sets BUS premium then create a copy of permission sets using copy action. Give a name for the copy permission sets.

    3. After creating a copy of the permission sets go to that newly create permission sets and click on Permission action.

    6. Go to users "TWAT2 and IT" and then remove the existing permission sets or permission group which has access of the Sales header table data.

and replace it with your newly created permission sets.

    7. you can verify if the user (TWAT2 and IT) can see the sales order for the assigned user id or not.

    Thank you!

I followed the steps, but still no success, do I need to do something before setting the permissions?

If you want out of the box functionality, you should look at Responsibility Center. Only user that belongs to that responsibility center can see related orders.

It's technically not per user, but you can set it up per user.

    Try a security filter: docs.microsoft.com/.../security-filters

Or try out responsibility centres: docs.microsoft.com/.../inventory-responsibility-centers
