I've looked around and seen suggestions to enable remote errors but it's not clear to me how for a tier 2 environment much less production. I can navigate to the exact configuration on my development box, but even without the EnableRemoteErrors configuration enabled, I am able to see the specific error when a report fails (e.g., missing unit conversion for an item). When I hit a report error in a tier 2 box or production, I'm given a generic /For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors/. The question is simply how do I enable the EnableRemoteErrors configuration on a tier 2 or production instance? Are there any other solutions available?
By the way, I do not know if all SSRS errors will result in the same message returned.
