Azure Synapse Link Tables with CSV errors when trying to refresh link in Power BI

Hey all,

I've been using Azure Synapse Links through Power Apps to make the Dataverse db visible in our Azure Data Lake Storage

It works well and I've been using Power BI to connect to various tables with this

Lately we've been having some Tables that appear to have Table CSV file corruptions

When refreshing the datasource I get this type of error:

OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] Microsoft SQL: Cannot bulk load because the file "">xxxxx.dfs.core.windows.net/.../2022-08.csv" could not be opened

I have removed the Table in the Azure Synapse Link Tables and re-added but this surely is not the anser.

It is now happening to several other Tables

Any ideas?

Hi, Quick confirmation on this - Are you referring to partition views on the synapse side and not partitioned table? learn.microsoft.com/.../create-use-views.

I assume csv need to be converted to parquet in order to use this. Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hi wakedude,

The cause is that the files are being locked during the export as there is an ongoing synchronization (create, update, delete operations).

This is currently how Synapse is designed to view data and the use of partition tables is the correct way to view data while it is being synced--enabled the organization for the partitions feature which creates a secondary table, under Views on Synapse.
