Hello allour structure have 2 NAV licence for 2 sites.

As we are a federal institution, we have now only 1 federal site. so our other site doesn't need to keep his licence except for archive consultation.

do you know a method to save all information in NAV data base ? just to give us the possibility to consult them (without NAV of course !

thanks a lot

regards

Patrick

use odbc or ado.net to connect directly to and read data from the database. the database at the backend is a "normal" sql server database.

You can export all the data to excel using dataports.

    Sorry but :

    - We don't want to upgrade this licence as it is obsolete (only used for archive consultations

    - We don't want to invest in developments.

we really want to find a solution as an export from DB or something else ?

    thanks

nav 5 is quite old. every software needs after some time an upgrade. so it would be a good idea to upgrade to nav 2009or 2013.

for now you can try to use web services for nav 5.

YEs of course. Bu imagine that in a few years 3 ? 4? our DB becomes obsolete and can't be used /read from excel ? and we have to know the DB structure !

    thanks

you can connect directly to the database using excel.

but it would be better to buy another license.
