Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) 9.1 UCI- What is the use of merge while creation of record?

Hi All,

I entered a new contact data and while saving it shows me duplicate records.

I selected that record and tried to merge

Then again it showed me current and existing record. 

Current record details it show me blank. 

What is the use of merge functionality while creation as I need to enter data again?

    Hi Sushma,

    In your screenshot, there are two columns: one is Matched record another is current record.

    It seems that Matched record column shows information of the new Contact.

    Here I created a  new contact first first name as 'a' and Last name as 'a'.

    While saving it shows me duplicate records. So I selected existing records and then clicked on merge

    While merging current records details are completely blank and I need to re-add those to existing records.

    Whatever I entered on new screen does not make any sense as record was not saved.

    Hi Sushma,

    Can you share the relevant screenshots?

    I have tried to select one duplicated contact merge two contacts after creating a new contact, it can appear following dialog:

    The 'Current Record' column shows details of selected contact, if you want to some fields can be replaced with value from the newly created contact, you can select options in the 'Matched Record' column.
