Hi

  When i enter Database instance it gives error : Your entry of MSSQLSERVER is not an acceptable value for Database Instance

Instance is Default Instance

Secondly when i am trying to enter the below information in Change connecttion it gives error A server was not found net.tcp:test-pc:9046/Lve/Service

      Navision has Navdemo instance . It got installed on SQLExpress as a result it is not taking Database greated than 10GB. I want the Database changed to default instance which is enterprise Edition. Is this possible.

    I have kept Database Instance Blank even then it is not working

    How have you installed Dynamics NAV,

    Is it a Demo Installation or a Custom installation.

    Hi,

    1) Make sure the instance MSSQLSERVER exists (If you are use SQL Server Express then default instance could be SQLEXPRESS)

    2) Make sure the NAV database is at MSSQLSERVER.

    3) After step 1 and 2 configure the NAV service and restart.

    Normally if you install it will create NAVDEMO instance. Open SQL Server management studio and check on which instance your database exists,if you are not using NAVDEMO and using Default Instance then you don't need specify anything on the NAV Service.

    Is that your instance or Database Server? If you have the default MS SQL Server installation then you wouldn't have an instance. You'd have a Database Server and Database name value. You can leave the instance blank if you do not have an instance.
