Hi,

I was trying to deploy development VMs from LCS for Dynamics 365 FO, I have been gone through various Documents. But the movement I got the project (Implementation type) @ LCS, I am not able to deploy VMs since the configure button is not editable.

What should I do to make it editable or Is my account missing any privilege or rights !!, which Global Admin needs to provide  me (I am project owner in the project ), Kindly suggest, below is the screen

    Hi axAmit1982,

You need to complete analysis phase in your implementation methodology to unlock configure button, that includes visual studio setup.

I think that number 2 is an add-on (additional development environment) that your customer has purchased. You should configure one of these environments as the build server, and use the other for development. I would use the "included" machine (number 1) as a build server.

If you have more than one developer in the project, you will also need more development machines. They can be obtained:

    - As add-ons (similar than your number 2, this is the most expensive option) with fixed monthly fee. Also for these machines, you will not have admin privileges in remote desktop session, which can cause some difficulties.

    - Deployed from "Cloud hosted environments" page to your or your customer's Azure subscription (pay per minute, you can shut it down for nights/weekends and save a lot of money). Here you have unlimited admin privileges.

    - Downloaded from LCS Asset library and run locally on your laptop, or in your company's IT infrastructure. Here you have unlimited admin privileges.

Thanks for reply Nikolaos, Since we do not have any private subscription as of now so the only option for us if your 1 point i.e add-on VMs, which would not have the admin privileges, That again raised one point in my mind what if we need to install/configure MPOS @ dev with demo data, can we run and install MPOS on those VMs ?? Any idea about , Kindly suggest

I would guess that you can't install any new components to those machines because of the lack of admin access. But the cloud POS could be there and usable out of the box. Not sure about that, though.

You can also download a VHD and run a developer machine locally on your own PC. You don't need an Azure subscription for that, and that way you will have an environment with full admin access.
