Microsoft Dynamics AX (Archived)

AX2012R3CU8 - Report as finished from mobile device is giving error, Inventory dimension Location must be specified. Update has been canceled.

Hi,

I am trying to use mobile device for report as finished to fixed location in the warehouse.

I have defined the wave template as below,

I have defined the work template as below,

I have defined the location directive as below,

I have defined warehouse as below,

I have define fixed location for product as below,

I have defined mobile device menu item as below,

I am getting below error when trying to report as finished from mobile device,

Please let me know if I am missing some setup to resolve this error.

    Hi Amol,

    Thanks. The screenshoots are visible on the OneDrive link.

    Check the settings for the location and the location directive. You are only using a fixed location. Is the capacity sufficient to handle more items on the location? Also try to change the field Strategy on the location directive actions to e.g. consolidate.

    Hi Andre,

    Sorry for delay in response.

    I have not defined any dimensions for the fixed location defined for product as well as default production finished good location defined in warehouse.

    I have also tried to change the location directive strategy to consolidate, but still I am getting the same error.

    I have added few extra screenshots for changes I done in location directive on below link,

    I am also trying for back flushing of raw material (negative inventory allowed) and operation time on RAF.

    Please let me know if some setup is missing.

    Hi Everyone,

    The reason behind this problem is due to automatic report as finished is checked in route card / job card journal in journals fast tab in production control parameters which is required when subcontracting is in use.

    If automatic report as finished checkbox is unchecked then this problem is resolved.

    This problem is resolved in CU10 update.

    But still there is problem in sub-contracting flow with automatic report as finished, since AX doesn't generate the license plate automatically while automatic report as finished is done on purchase order product receipt for subcontracted service product. This is not supported in AX 2012 R3 CU10 also.

    But as a workaround, automatic report as finished can disabled and automatic bom and route consumptions can be disabled so that on purchase order product receipt it will neither automatically report as finished nor bom and route consumption due to back flushing at finish setup. In this case report as finished has to be done using mobile device to ensure location and license plate are automatically linked to report as finished and also the work created for pick from default FG location and put away in storage location as per location directive report as finished will be completed automatically.

    I have created product suggestion (Production bom location is not getting updated) in Microsoft for this point as well. Please like it if you have the same requirement.
