I had a weird question, When I import a XPO file.

There is a class when I select to compare,

No window is display to select source and destination.
It just nothing happen. and only this class has the situation.

Have anyone has any idea what's wrong with this class?

Thanks a lot!

You can try to debug the import and compare processes, the form is called SysImportExportDialog, and the other one is SysCompare. See where does it get stuck, so maybe you will get a better idea.

Most likely the XPO got edited by hand, or something is wrong like the exported object is damaged somehow, so the contents of your XPO file might have blocks which are not in the correct order or a block is not closed. There could also be some special, unintended characters from the unicode keyset in the document that breaks stuff in the AX kernel. Try to save the file as ASCII maybe instead of UTF format?

So the correct action to take is to make a manual visual inspection of the contents of the XPO file with a text editor, then if there is nothing obvious save the file in a different format, finally debug the import process.

That's great, can you please give details on which suggestion helped, so others with the same issue will have a clue as well?

    Cheers

    Hi, Vilmos:

I follow your suggestion to check the file first. I find a control character in the file.

After I remove the character. The importing tool is fine to open the XPO file.

So I don't got chance to debug the form you mention.

I think it will be be the next step I'd like to try.

    Thank you so much again!
